Abstract

The insertion of sustainability is increasingly important in the context of universities. These, while forming professionals, seek to develop concepts and practices of sustainability. This study aimed to identify positive points and improvement opportunities for a federal institution of higher education based on public servants perspectives. It is a qualitative study that analyzed 96 answers obtained in an open question entitled "Space for Suggestions and Comments" in a research on sustainability in universities. The following positive points were identified: the project "University Environment"; individual actions of public servants; organic fair. As opportunities for improvement: the need to disseminate the themes in the courses curricula, the need to substitute paper for electronic processes, the promotion of institutional environmental policies and the need for participation of all academic communities in decisions that impact on sustainability. Thus, it is verified that the institution investigated works on sustainability-related issues, requiring deeper work.
