E-Fulfillment: The case of the Brazilian Mail Company

Abstract

The objective of this work was to verify the factors that prevail in the decision to hire the Correios Log + service from the perspective of e-commerce entrepreneurs. For that, an applied qualitative and documentary study was conducted through a semi structured study and interview to six small companies, clients of the Correios Log + service in the state of São Paulo. The results evidence that hardly an e-commerce is successful without a well-structured e-fulfillment service. Several reasons lead companies to outsource e-fulfillment, the most common is the intention to focus efforts on the main activity. For future research, we suggest the development of studies to expand the scientific and managerial discussions in this field of knowledge, which is restricted.
