MODELO 3M DE MOTIVAÇÃO E PERSONALIDADE APLICADO À PERSISTÊNCIA DISCENTE EM CURSOS A DISTÂNCIA

Resumo

Este estudo examina traços de personalidade como antecedentes do comportamento de Persistência Discente em cursos superiores na modalidade a distância. Adota o Metateórico de Motivação e Personalidade (3M) como fundamentação teórica. Questionários autoadministrados foram enviados para uma amostra de 490 discentes de cursos de Licenciatura oferecidos na modalidade a distância. A Modelagem de Equações Estruturais foi empregada para analisar as relações entre os construtos. Os traços de personalidade que mais explicam a Persistência Discente são Satisfação com o Curso, Amabilidade, Autoeficácia e Necessidade de Aprendizado. A originalidade do estudo está em utilizar o Modelo 3M para entender o comportamento de Persistência Discente. Os resultados contribuem para o delineamento de políticas que promovam a redução da desistência de estudantes e melhorem os indicadores da educação superior especialmente em cursos na modalidade a distância.

Possui Doutorado em Administração em Administração pelo Instituto COPPEAD da UFRJ. É professora do Programa de Pós-graduação em Gestão Pública (UFES) e Presidente do Comitê Gestor Nacional do Mestrado Profissional em Administração Pública em Rede Nacional (PROFIAP).

Marcello Ferreira, Universidade de Brasília

Professor no Instituto de Física da Universidade de Brasília (UnB). Doutor em Educação em Ciências pela UFRGS com Pós-Doutorado na UFSCar, na área de Ensino de Ciências e Tecnologias. É professor do Mestrado Nacional Profissional em Ensino de Física (MNPEF) junto à Sociedade Brasileira de Física (SBF).

Ralph Luis de Moura, Centro Universitário Faesa

Possui Mestrado em Engenharia Elétrica, Doutorado em Administração pela UFES e Pós-Doutorando em Automação pelo Instituto Tecnológico da Vale S.A.. É arquiteto corporativo na área de TI Industrial na Vale S.A. e professor do Centro Universitário FAESA.

Taciana de Lemos Dias, Universidade Federal do Espírito Santos
